When Is a Small Browser Game Worth Keeping?
The standard Sambro uses to decide which browser games stay public and which ones should be hidden.
Short still needs to feel good
A browser game should start quickly, but lightweight does not mean careless. Button size, board proportions, mobile controls, and result feedback decide whether someone plays again.
Games with established rules have clearer search intent. 2048, Minesweeper, Snake, and typing tests are easier to justify because users already know what they expect.
Hiding is also a product decision
Very thin games can increase the page count while lowering the product impression. Sambro is better served by fewer games that feel deliberate.
Future games should be judged by search intent, control quality, and a reason to replay. The standard is not whether the game can be built, but whether it should remain public.
